Ten Vietnamese businesses have cracked the top 500 performing retailers in the Asia-Pacific region, in an annual ranking by Singapore’s Retail Asia Magazine, Vietnam News Agency reported.
Ten Vietnamese businesses have cracked the top 500 performing retailers in the Asia-Pacific region, in an annual ranking by Singapore’s Retail Asia Magazine, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The 2009 Retail Asia-Pacific Top 500 lists the top retailers, based on turnover, in 14 major Asia Pacific markets, including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh City-based jewelry trader Saigon Jewelry Holding Company (SJC) was ranked as the leading retailer in Vietnam with last year’s retail turnover reaching VND4.5 trillion (US3.16 million).
It was followed by the Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) which earned VND3.91 trillion (8.95 million) last year and supermarket chain Saigon Co.op Mart with VND3.24 trillion (9.47 million) in turnover.
The list of retailers operating in Vietnam also included Nguyen Kim Electronic
Appliance Center, supermarket chain Big C, department store chain
Parkson, convenience store chain G7 Mart, the Diamond Plaza Department
Store, the Best Carings Electronics Shopping Center and bookstore chain
Fahasa.
